A little curiosity goes a long way

Find a little.
Make a little.

That jacket in the charity shop. The guitar in the cupboard. The little thing that catches your eye.

A second opinion on what you’ve found—and what it could be worth. Check the evidence, add the asking price and choose what happens next.

Made for curious people. Currently in private beta.

Friends sharing the pleasure of a secondhand discovery
↗A second opinion.
Right in your pocket.
A little less guesswork.   A little more possibility.
A good find starts with a question

“I wonder what
that’s worth?”

We’re building Hapfound to make secondhand discovery feel more informed, more inviting and more connected. Whether you’re buying for yourself, clearing a cupboard or pricing shop stock, a little useful information can make a difference.

01

Spot something.

Photograph an item, upload a picture or scan a supported barcode. Add a label or detail photo to help identify it.

02

Explore its potential.

See the comparisons found and open their sources. Add the asking price and your selling costs to explore a possible margin.

03

Choose what’s next.

Save your find, share a public-shop discovery, or prepare a selling description and choose where to take it.

A couple browsing secondhand finds together
For weekend wanders, everyday discoveries and second chances.
More than a price on a screen

Good things deserve
another chapter.

Hapfound is being developed in the UK by Phil Wood, with an idea shaped by everyday bargain hunting and the discoveries we leave behind.

One person spots something lovely but doesn’t need it. Someone nearby has been looking for exactly that. We’re exploring how shared finds, shop locations and useful alerts can bring those moments together.

Our ambition is to support reuse, local discovery and confident decisions—from students finding their feet to couples enjoying a weekend browse and charity-shop teams sorting fresh donations.

Seven ways to follow your curiosity

WHAT’S WORKING · WHAT’S NEXT

Helpful evidence. Honest limits.

Open the sources behind a result. Sold references and asking prices are kept separate. If useful sold evidence is missing, we say so. A photo cannot authenticate an item or reveal every fault.

A hand with selling.

Prepare and review your own description and photos. Facebook Marketplace and Gumtree use manual handoffs: you finish and publish on their websites.

The eBay integration remains in Sandbox testing. Unpublished test uploads still need validation in the independent beta; live eBay publishing is not enabled.

Vinted partner access is being explored. No Vinted account API connection is live. Mention of a platform does not imply a partnership.

Free at the heart.

Basic scanning, the price check and its source links are intended to stay free. We’re testing optional tools that save time, including deeper comparisons and listing preparation. No paid subscription is active in the beta.

A few things you might wonder

Curiosity
welcome.

Can I join the beta?

We’re keeping the test group small while we improve the experience. Email Phil to register your interest. There’s no guaranteed launch date or automatic admission.

Does it tell me what something sold for?

When a suitable, dated sold reference is found, you can open its source. The result shows the seven-day window for that scan; saved results keep their original date. An unusually high sale may not be typical, and a displayed sold price does not independently confirm payment.

Does the margin include every cost?

The beta uses the purchase price and selling costs you enter. Add fees, postage you pay, packaging and other costs. Missing costs are not automatically calculated. Margins are conditional examples before tax, time, returns and anything you have not included.

Is Hapfound only for resellers?

No. It’s for anyone who enjoys a good find, wants to understand something they own, or could use help deciding what to do with it. We’re also exploring tools for charity shops and independent retailers.

Does it publish listings automatically?

No live marketplace listing is automatically published by the current beta. You review the AI-assisted text and photos. Manual handoffs require you to finish the listing on the destination website; eBay’s connected upload is Sandbox testing only.

Can we discuss an integration or shop trial?

Yes. We welcome conversations with marketplace teams, charity shops and independent retailers about authorised integrations and small pilots. Get in touch with Phil below.
